A 44-year-old man from Statesville, identified as Randall Antonio Carr, was taken into custody by Statesville Police Officers on Thursday, February 8. Carr is facing multiple charges, including five felony counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, as well as sale and delivery of cocaine. Additionally, he is charged with a single felony count of trafficking opium or heroin, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for keeping controlled substances. Carr is also facing three felony counts of probation violation.

Authorities initiated an investigation following reports of illegal drug activities at a residence on Glade Street in Statesville. Investigators and officers conducted surveillance on the house to gather intelligence and made undercover purchases of crack cocaine. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed on Tuesday, February 6.

The search operation led to the seizure of various illegal substances, including nearly 30 grams of cocaine, 105 dosage units of oxycodone, and eleven grams of marijuana. Along with the drugs, law enforcement officers also confiscated a sum of US currency and drug paraphernalia.

During the operation, the suspect, Randall Antonio Carr, was apprehended at the scene. However, Carr experienced a medical emergency while being investigated and was immediately transported to a local hospital for prompt treatment. Following a medical evaluation, he was admitted to the hospital for further observation. Carr was discharged on February 8 and subsequently taken into custody.

After the arrest, Carr was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond. As of today, February 12, he remains incarcerated in the facility under a secured bond of $251,000. Scheduled for April 29 and 30, Carr’s case awaits a hearing in the Superior Court.
