She was not only the owner of the popular Italian Restaurant, Vito’s Ristorante, but also served as a City Council member and later became the mayor of The City of the Village. Cathy was also an authoritative voice in the local Democratic Party.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Cathy was a loving wife and mother. Her husband, Sean Cummings, who owns Sean’s Irish Restaurant in the same building, took to Facebook to share the devastating news with the community. He spoke of Cathy’s exceptional qualities, describing her as a remarkable person with an unparalleled positivity that brought out the best in everyone she encountered. Cathy’s absence will undoubtedly be deeply felt by her family, friends, constituents, and customers.

Governor, campaigning in person in all 77 counties, a feat that went above and beyond what most politicians have done. Although she did not win the race, the experience gained during the campaign would prove valuable in her future endeavors.
In 2017, Cathy won a City Council seat in The Village in the OKC north metro. She connected with the community by knocking on doors and listening to their concerns. Her commitment to public service was further recognized when she was chosen by her fellow council members to be the Mayor of The Village.
Cummings’ impact extended beyond the local level. In 2022, she ran for an open Oklahoma County Commissioner seat, although she was ultimately defeated. However, her contributions to the county and The Village will continue to have a lasting impact.
