Accident – Death – Obituary News : Bhopal: A 23-year-old woman, pursuing her MBA, fell victim to a horrendous crime when she was allegedly raped by an unknown man she met on a train journey nearly a year ago. The accused, identified as Shubham, deceived the victim into a false sense of friendship over the phone and later coerced her into meeting him at a hotel in Chunabhatti just two days ago. The situation took a dark turn when the victim disclosed her engagement to another man, leading Shubham to resort to blackmail and ultimately commit the heinous act of rape.
According to the Chunabhatti police, a formal complaint has been lodged in connection with the incident. The survivor recounted to the authorities that during a previous trip to Vrindavan with her mother, she inadvertently left her mobile phone in her mother’s handbag while boarding a different coach on their return journey. Seeking to inform her mother of the situation, she borrowed a fellow passenger’s phone, who turned out to be the accused Shubham. This chance encounter sparked a series of phone conversations between the two, eventually leading to a sinister turn of events.
Shubham gradually cultivated a bond with the victim over time, engaging in regular conversations and chats over the phone. However, matters took a sinister turn following the victim’s engagement to another individual. As she began to distance herself from Shubham, he took matters into his own hands by travelling to Bhopal on June 26. Subsequently, he coerced her into meeting him at a Chunabhatti hotel, where he resorted to blackmail and threats in order to carry out the abhorrent act of rape. When the victim resisted, Shubham resorted to physical violence, leaving her traumatized and deeply scarred by the harrowing experience.
In the aftermath of the incident, the terrified victim confided in her family members, recounting the traumatic ordeal she had endured at the hands of Shubham. The family wasted no time in reporting the incident to the authorities, leading to the registration of a case against the accused. The police have assured the victim of their full support and are actively pursuing the case to ensure justice is served.
