A heartbreaking incident took place in Delhi’s Harish Vihar area, where a six-year-old boy lost his life after a portion of the terrace of a two-storey house collapsed. The incident occurred while the child was innocently playing on the terrace of the old house, and a sudden collapse led to his fatal fall to the ground.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey shared, “At around 5 p.m., we received a distressing call regarding a building collapse in the Pratap Nagar area. Santosh Kumar, the distraught father, informed us about the tragic loss of his son due to the collapse.”
Despite immediate medical attention, the young boy could not be saved and was pronounced dead at GTB Hospital. Santosh, along with his family, had been residing as tenants on the premises for the past six months. In addition to the deceased boy, Santosh has a nine-year-old daughter.
However, the owner of the house, identified as Ramji Lal, has been reportedly missing since the unfortunate incident. Lal resides on the ground floor of the same property, and authorities are currently pursuing his whereabouts.
DCP Tirkey affirmed, “A case is being filed against the owner, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic event.”
