Accident – Death – Obituary News : Indore: Man’s Body Discovered at Barlai Railway Station, Allegedly Hit by Train
In a tragic incident, the lifeless body of a 30-year-old man was found on platform no. 1 of Barlai railway station in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The discovery was made on Friday, prompting authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s untimely demise.
The deceased has been identified as Sachin Verma, a resident of Dewas district and a driver by profession. According to GRP station-in-charge Sanjay Shukla, Verma had a female friend residing near the station whom he frequently visited. On the night preceding the discovery of his body, Verma arrived at his friend’s residence in an inebriated state and requested her to prepare a meal for him.
Following his departure from his friend’s home, claiming he was off to purchase milk, Verma failed to return. It is suspected that he may have come into contact with a speeding train while traversing the railway tracks in his intoxicated state. The two possible scenarios being considered are that he was either struck by a train and thrown onto the platform or was hit on the tracks and ended up on the platform in an injured condition before succumbing to his injuries.
Authorities have initiated a probe to determine the exact sequence of events leading to Verma’s tragic demise. The police are working diligently to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
In a separate incident in Indore, Malharganj police have apprehended a 19-year-old youth on charges of allegedly raping a minor girl. The accused, who is a golgappa vendor, reportedly befriended a 15-year-old girl and lured her to a café in the Malharganj area. Upon her arrival, he is said to have forced himself upon her, prompting the victim to file a complaint with the authorities.
Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The youth has been detained as the investigation into the matter continues to unfold.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety measures, particularly when navigating public spaces and interacting with strangers.
