Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Texas resident was apprehended by authorities following a violent altercation involving a machete-like weapon during a dispute on the road. Michael Martin Ochwat, aged 66, was taken into custody on Wednesday and formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as reported by the New Braunfels Police Department on their official Facebook page.

The incident took place on Monday at approximately noon, near the junction of North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street in New Braunfels. Police responded to a distress call regarding a stabbing incident and found a 55-year-old man with a severe slash wound on his upper body. Emergency medical services were summoned to the scene, providing immediate medical attention before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the victim’s condition was deemed serious but stable, and he has since been discharged from medical care.

Initial investigations suggest that the victim and another driver engaged in a heated argument while in their respective vehicles. Both individuals exited their vehicles, at which point Ochwat, the suspect, brandished a machete-type knife and confronted the victim. Ochwat was promptly identified as the assailant and subsequently served with an arrest warrant without any resistance.

Following the arrest, Ochwat was remanded to the Comal County Jail and later released on a bail bond amounting to $50,000. The authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice is served in this case.
