Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Clifton Heights man in Delaware County is facing his fourth indecent exposure case, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for a recent arrest in Media. Lawrence Meehan, 23, has been charged with open lewdness and indecent exposure after allegedly engaging in lewd behavior in public on May 30.
Meehan, represented by defense counsel Tracy Tripp, was set to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Gallard on the charges but it has been postponed until July 12. He is also due for trial on three prior cases on July 22 before Judge Richard M. Cappelli, with Assistant District Attorney Danielle Kitzinger handling the prosecution.
The most recent incident, as detailed in an affidavit of probable cause by Media Police Sgt. Eric Gavin, occurred at the Rita’s Water Ice where Meehan was reported to have committed the lewd act. Three juvenile girls in a car witnessed Meehan staring intensely at them while engaging in inappropriate behaviour.
The girls promptly called 911 as Meehan fled the scene, but officers were able to locate him at the Media Inn and Suites where he was identified by one of the victims. This marks the latest in a series of arrests for Meehan, including incidents in 2019, 2021, and 2022, all involving similar lewd behaviour towards young girls.
In previous cases, Meehan has been given probation and bail for his actions, but the district attorney’s office has moved to revoke bail following the most recent arrest. With a history of similar offences and pending trials, Meehan’s legal troubles continue to escalate.
