Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Lakeland, Florida, have announced the arrest of dozens of individuals following a thorough three-year investigation into a family-run drug trafficking organization. The investigation revealed that the Rooske drug trafficking organization was using a bait and tackle shop, as well as a motorcycle parts and accessories shop, as fronts for their illegal activities.

Sheriff Grady Judd described the operation as a “family business,” with the Rooske Bait and Tackle Shop and Rooske Motorcycle Parts and Accessories being used for drug trafficking and money laundering purposes. The unsuspecting customers of these establishments were unaware of the criminal activities taking place behind the scenes.

Key Figures in the Organization

The leader of the organization, Hector Baez Torres, aged 43, was identified as the mastermind behind the operation. His wife, Pilar Rivera, and their daughter, Jeimylee Baez Rivera, were also implicated in the illegal activities. Additionally, 24-year-old Miguel Castro Rivera was identified as Torres’s “right-hand man.”

Two suppliers of illegal drugs to the organization were also apprehended during the investigation. Wilfredo Feliciano Velez, aged 26, was arrested while delivering three kilograms of cocaine to Torres, while 59-year-old Casimiro Bidot Del Valle was arrested at his residence during a search warrant execution.

Seizures and Asset Confiscation

On June 20, authorities executed search warrants at various locations associated with the organization, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of illegal substances. A total of 742.14 grams of fentanyl, 3,585.42 grams of cocaine, 13.08 grams of methamphetamine, 57 grams of oxycodone, and 228.69 grams of marijuana were confiscated.

The street value of the seized drugs was estimated to be $475,348.60. Additionally, assets worth over $604,000 were seized, including cash, vehicles, watercraft, merchandise, bank accounts, liens on properties, and other valuable items.

The combined impact of the seized drugs and assets on the Rooske Drug Trafficking Organization was calculated to be $1,080,118.60.

Arrests and Collaborative Efforts

A total of 64 individuals have been arrested in connection with the drug trafficking ring. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office initiated the investigation in January 2021, with support from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, led by Ashley Moody.

This coordinated effort led to the successful dismantling of the criminal organization and the arrest of those involved in the illicit drug trade.
