FISHERS, Ind. — A man has been arrested by the Fishers Police Department after allegedly robbing a local restaurant, fleeing from police, and firing a handgun early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Fishers PD officers responded to a call at the Taco Bell on Allisonville Road regarding a robbery and carjacking. Initial reports indicated that three individuals entered the drive-through window, brandishing weapons and demanding money. One of the suspects also stole a vehicle belonging to a Taco Bell employee. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Following the robbery, officers located the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Allisonville Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Fredrick Nance, fled the scene on foot upon exiting the vehicle.
With the assistance of a K-9 unit, officers pursued Nance as he attempted to evade capture. During the chase, a gunshot was heard, but fortunately, no one was injured by the gunfire. Nance was eventually apprehended by law enforcement, and several items belonging to the victims were recovered from his possession. Additionally, a Glock handgun with a machine gun conversion device was found near the scene.
Upon questioning, Nance confessed to the robbery, auto theft, and discharging a firearm. He is currently facing 12 preliminary charges, including robbery, intimidation, battery resulting in bodily injury, theft, auto theft, pointing a firearm at another, and more.
