The tragic timeline of events leading up to the crash began when Steve Schwally drove a 2020 Chevy Traverse at high speed through the parking lot, ultimately crashing into the front window of the Hawaii Nail & Spa. Several individuals were trapped in the wreckage, with one person requiring airlifting to the hospital for treatment.
Schwally, who was partially conscious when first responders arrived, is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital and is facing charges of driving while intoxicated. The aftermath of the crash left nine individuals hospitalized, including Nicole Miele, Ana Garcia, Wen Jun Cheng, and Michael Mehale, who are all receiving treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional individuals, including Carol Garcia, Toni Saccente, Krystal Rodriguez, Nicole Saccente, and a 12-year-old girl whose identity has been withheld, were also treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
