Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Authorities in Hawaii are currently conducting a homicide investigation after the tragic discovery of a 71-year-old woman found dead in her Hawaiian Acres residence last week. The victim has been identified as Yong Cha Kim, a resident of Mountain View.
Reports indicate that the homicide took place sometime between the evening of Tuesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 20. Puna patrol officers were called to the scene at a residence on Uhini Ana Road in Mountain View after an elderly man found his wife unresponsive on the floor around 3:14 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.
Upon arrival, officers noted that Kim had sustained several suspicious injuries and signs of a disturbance within the residence were evident. Additionally, it was reported that several items were missing from the home.
Kim was rushed to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:54 p.m. An autopsy conducted by a forensic pathologist revealed that the cause of death was strangulation, leading to the classification of the case as second-degree murder by the Hawaii Police Department.
