Tragic Murder-Suicide in Kisii County Leaves Two Dead

A man has reportedly shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself under unclear circumstances in Kisii County.

According to police reports, the victims have been identified as Veronica Kerubo Morande, aged 30, and Vincent Mosioma Michieka, also 30, both residents of Kisii. The couple’s relationship took a tragic turn, leading to a deadly outcome that shocked those who knew them.

Mr. Kases stated, “A report was received from a Boda Boda chairman of the Safaricom Shop Stage within Kisii Township that there was a shooting incident at credit Building Glassmatt Shop.” The details surrounding the motive behind the shooting remain unclear, leaving many unanswered questions.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the neck, while the male suspect, a licensed gun holder, turned the weapon on himself, resulting in a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head around 11:30 pm.

At the scene, authorities recovered a Berreta pistol along with 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition and two spent cartridges. The presence of a firearm in the hands of a distraught individual has raised concerns about gun control and access to weapons in the community.
