Accident – Death – Obituary News : Chennai: A 34-year-old man, identified as Dharanidharan and the son of a prominent BJP office-bearer in Puducherry, was arrested by the police on Saturday for the tragic death of his co-worker, V. Hariharan. The incident occurred at their workplace in Thoraipakkam on Friday night.
Hariharan, also 34 years old and a resident of Lakshmipuram, Thiruvanmiyur, was employed at a private firm in Sakthi Nagar, Thoraipakkam. The altercation between the two colleagues reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over a woman. The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in Dharanidharan delivering a fatal punch to Hariharan’s face.
The blow rendered Hariharan unconscious, prompting Dharanidharan to flee the scene. Other employees at the firm rushed Hariharan to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Thoraipakkam Police swiftly launched an investigation, registering a case and sending the body for post-mortem examination.
Dharanidharan was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and subsequently taken into custody. Following a court appearance, he was remanded to judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
