According to a report by Hindustan Times, police officers were alerted by onlookers who witnessed the man’s plunge into the sea. The police promptly notified the fire brigade and initiated a search operation. Unfortunately, due to poor visibility, the search had to be temporarily suspended late in the evening.

Previous Rescues by Marine Drive Police

This incident comes on the heels of two separate rescues by the Mumbai police. In one instance, a 59-year-old woman was rescued from Marine Drive, while three individuals were saved at the Gateway of India on Thursday. At the Gateway of India, rough seas and high tides resulted in the trio falling and sustaining minor injuries. Meanwhile, at Marine Drive, Swati Kanani found herself in a precarious situation when her handbag fell into the water. As she attempted to retrieve it, she slipped and fell into the sea. Fortunately, she was rescued in time.
