Evansville, Ind. (WEVV) – Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies have reported the arrest of a woman following a strange encounter during a drunk-driving incident.
Authorities received a call from a witness who claimed that a woman, later identified as 40-year-old Rachel Hudson, was tailgating them aggressively while driving north on St. Joseph Ave. on Friday.
The witness stated that Hudson continued to follow them onto Mill Road, eventually pulling into a parking lot. Hudson then followed suit, pulling over next to the witness’s vehicle.
Upon exiting her car, Hudson was reportedly holding a bottle of whiskey in her hand. She attempted to enter the witness’s vehicle, but was thwarted by the driver. In frustration, she threw the bottle into a nearby ditch.
Deputies found Hudson alone in her vehicle upon arrival, and observed signs of intoxication. She refused to comply with multiple field sobriety tests and was uncooperative with law enforcement.
Records from the court indicate that Hudson has a history of drunk-driving related arrests in recent years.
She was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
