Sources close to the family revealed that Mallika’s father, Madan Roy, had a history of returning home inebriated and causing disturbances. This behavior led to Mallika’s mother leaving the family a year ago, leaving Mallika to live with her father and grandparents. However, Mallika often sought refuge at her uncle’s house, especially during tumultuous times at home.
On the fateful Saturday morning, Madan Roy once again came home drunk and got into a heated argument with Mallika, which ended in him scolding her. Devastatingly, Mallika was later found hanging in their residence, leaving the family and the community in shock.
