The driver, identified as 43-year-old Joshua Bertram from Kentucky, lost control of the vehicle, leading to a series of catastrophic events.
According to authorities, a 1994 Ford Ranger was travelling southbound on the same highway when it attempted to swerve out of the way to avoid a collision with the Chevrolet. Despite the best efforts of the Ford’s driver, 73-year-old Jessie Robbins, the two vehicles collided on the shoulder of the road, resulting in a fatal outcome for both drivers.
Following the initial impact, the Chevrolet continued its path southbound and ultimately crashed into a tree. Tragically, Joshua Bertram did not survive the collision, while his passenger, also from Kentucky, sustained injuries. The passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, is currently receiving medical treatment. However, the extent of their injuries remains unclear.
