CHICAGO (CBS) — A 40-year-old man from Chicago has been charged with the brutal beating that led to the death of a 67-year-old man on the city’s Northwest Side earlier this month. Richard Orozco was apprehended by the Chicago Police Area 5 Homicide Support Team on Thursday, just before 4 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Foster Avenue. He now faces a felony count of first-degree murder for his alleged involvement in the heinous crime.
According to the authorities, Orozco was identified as one of the individuals who, on June 16, assaulted the elderly man in the 3100 block of West Lawrence Avenue in the Albany Park neighbourhood. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries in the aftermath of the brutal attack.
Following his arrest, Orozco was taken into custody and charged accordingly, as confirmed by the police. He is now set to appear at a detention hearing scheduled for Saturday. At present, no further details regarding the case have been disclosed.
