Accident – Death – Obituary News : Atlantic City Police have apprehended a suspect accused of attempting to lure and sexually assault two minors. The incident occurred on June 22, when officers responded to a report of a 13-year-old girl meeting a man, identified as 21-year-old Javier Erazo, at the intersection of Kingston and Sunset Avenues in Atlantic City, near a playground and close to the inlet.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officials began questioning the girl and Erazo about their relationship, which was revealed to have originated on social media. Subsequent investigation by the Special Victims Unit uncovered that Erazo was aware of the girl’s age and had intentions of engaging in a sexual relationship with her. As a result, he was taken into custody.
Further inquiries by detectives uncovered that Erazo had been under investigation since March 2019, when he was suspected of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl when he was 16 years old. During questioning, Erazo made incriminating statements that led to additional charges being brought against him in that case.
Erazo now faces charges of attempting to lure or entice a juvenile, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. He is currently detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending further legal proceedings.
