In the southern province of Mersin in Türkiye, a devastating traffic accident involving two buses and a passenger car has resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals, one of whom was a Russian woman, and left 35 others injured.
The incident took place in Silifke County, near the construction site of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, as reported by Caliber.Az citing Turkish media sources.
The collision occurred when a bus carrying workers to the construction site swerved into oncoming traffic, first hitting a passenger car with police sergeant Barish Gulcicek inside, and then colliding with another bus before overturning. Among the casualties was a 38-year-old Russian woman named Ismailova.
Upon receiving the distress call, emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, providing immediate assistance and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. Meanwhile, authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such heartbreaking tragedies from occurring in the future.
