Bike rider arrested on multiple gun charges after traffic infraction in Santa Rosa

(KRON) – A bike rider who committed a traffic infraction has been arrested on multiple gun charges, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Authorities have reported that at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, officers from the Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team observed a person riding a bike committing a traffic violation in the 2000 block of Cleveland Avenue.

The individual was identified as 40-year-old Duston Voorhes, a resident of Santa Rosa. Upon conducting a pat search, officers discovered a concealed knife, metal knuckles, and a metal knuckle/knife combination. Santa Rosa PD confirmed that all these weapons are illegal to possess.

Following the initial discovery, a thorough search led to the recovery of a loaded and concealed 9-mm Poly-80 “ghost gun” with six 9mm rounds loaded into an affixed magazine, as well as another loaded and concealed 9-mm Poly-80 “ghost gun” with the same ammunition configuration. Additionally, Voorhes was found to be in possession of 14.25 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a scale, and packaging indicative of narcotics sales.

As a result, Voorhes was taken into custody and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on a range of charges, including being a felon prohibited from firearm possession and ammunition possession, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of metal knuckles, possession of narcotics for sale, and more.
