A man from the West Side of Chicago has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following a violent home invasion in the Sheffield Neighbors neighbourhood on Thursday night. The victim of the attack was critically stabbed during the incident, according to the Chicago police.
Suspect identified
The suspect, identified as Devion Deshaun Allen, aged 25 and residing on the 2700 block of West Augusta Boulevard, faces charges of attempted murder, home invasion causing injury, and aggravated battery use of a deadly weapon, as confirmed by the authorities.
Incident Details
The incident took place shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, when law enforcement officers received a report of a home invasion in the 2000 block of North Clifton Avenue. The victim, who was inside the residence at the time, was attacked by an intruder who subsequently fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim with multiple stab wounds.
Suspect Apprehended
Following a swift response from the police, the suspect, Devion Deshaun Allen, was apprehended and taken into custody. He has since been scheduled to appear at a detention hearing, set to take place on Saturday.
