CHICAGO –

A man from Chicago has been charged after unlawfully entering a residence on the North Side and committing a violent attack on another individual by stabbing them.

Devion Deshaun Allen, a 25-year-old resident of the Humboldt Park neighbourhood, was apprehended on Thursday in the 1900 block of North Seminary Avenue, as per a statement issued by the Chicago Police Department. Allen faces multiple felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, home invasion causing injury, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Law enforcement officials have disclosed that Allen was positively identified as the perpetrator who forcibly entered a property in the 2000 block of North Clifton Avenue in the Sheffield Neighbors area and proceeded to repeatedly stab a 25-year-old male victim. The current condition of the injured individual remains undisclosed.

Following the incident, Allen was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement officers less than an hour later and subsequently charged.

The accused is set to make an appearance at a detention hearing on Saturday, according to police sources.
