Ashlee Stallings : “Mother Charged: 8-Year-Old Dies in Hot Car”

A tragic incident unfolded in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a mother faces charges of involuntary manslaughter following the death of her 8-year-old daughter, who was left in a hot car. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to an emergency call on Wilkinson Boulevard, where they discovered the young girl in critical condition inside the vehicle.

The child was rushed to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to her condition, prompting an investigation into the circumstances that led to her untimely death. Detectives believe that the girl was left unattended in the hot car, which ultimately resulted in a medical emergency that proved fatal.

The mother, identified as 36-year-old Ashlee Stallings, was taken into custody and charged with involuntary manslaughter and child abuse by willful act causing serious injury. According to reports from The Associated Press, Stallings informed authorities that she had left her daughter in the car with the air conditioning on while she went to work. However, she suspected that the child may have turned off the air conditioning at some point.

Stallings revealed to the police that she had received a text from her daughter approximately an hour and a half before returning to the car, only to find the child unresponsive on the backseat floorboard. In a desperate attempt to save her daughter, Stallings used a hammer to break into the car and sought assistance from a nearby business before rushing the child to the hospital.

Currently, Ashlee Stallings is under the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation into this heartbreaking incident continues.
