The devastating incident took place on June 12 on U.S. 69 and Denison Street in Bells, Texas. A vehicle, driven by Angela Woodson, was rear-ended by a pickup truck while waiting to make a left turn. The impact of the collision propelled the car into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a semi-truck.

Tragically, Angela Woodson lost her life in the crash, but her 3-month-old grandson, Roman, survived, albeit with severe injuries. Roman was rushed to the hospital, where doctors gave him a slim 5% chance of survival.

Roman’s grandfather, Ashley Woodson, recounted the heart-wrenching moments when doctors expressed little hope for the infant’s recovery. They feared that Roman had suffered significant brain damage due to lack of oxygen, and his chances of survival were slim.

Despite the grim prognosis, Roman’s family refused to give up hope. They faced numerous challenges in the organ donation process, with setbacks and obstacles at every turn. However, Roman continued to fight, showing small signs of progress each day.

After 11 days on a ventilator, the family made the difficult decision to remove the breathing tube, unsure of what the outcome would be. To their astonishment, Roman defied all expectations and began to show signs of improvement.
