Drug Trafficking Scheme Uncovered in Williamsport

Authorities in Williamsport have uncovered a drug trafficking scheme involving the sale of cocaine by a woman named Ameerah Yasmine Blackwell. The investigation was initiated after a confidential informant made several purchases of cocaine from Blackwell over a month-long period.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit discovered that Blackwell had orchestrated multiple drug transactions throughout the city. In one instance, she directed an informant to the intersection of Walnut and West Third streets, where she provided them with over half a gram of cocaine in exchange for $100 in marked bills.

Further transactions took place at the intersection of Grier Street and Park Avenue, where Blackwell’s associate, Kareema Moore, delivered nearly a gram of cocaine to the informant. Blackwell revealed that Moore had returned the money to her following the completion of the deal.

Blackwell herself sold over a gram of cocaine to an informant at the corner of Wildwood Boulevard and High Street. Subsequent transactions occurred at the Park and Fourth avenues, where Blackwell continued to sell cocaine to informants.

Following an interview with detectives at the Lycoming County District Attorney’s Office, Blackwell confessed to her involvement in all four drug deals. She also provided the name of her co-conspirator to the authorities.

As a result of the investigation, Blackwell is facing four counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. At present, no bail or hearing details have been listed for Blackwell.
