(CBS DETROIT) – Three family members, including an 81-year-old woman, her son, and grandson, have been charged in connection to a drive-by shooting incident involving the grandson’s ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday at a residence in the 16000 block of Forest. Tyler Michael Fistler, 21, allegedly discharged multiple shots at the property before fleeing the scene. Police have stated that the shooting was linked to an ongoing dispute with his ex-girlfriend’s current partner.

There were several individuals inside the house at the time of the shooting, including six children, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Following the shooting, Fistler sought refuge at a property in St. Clair County, owned by his grandmother, identified as Jaraldine Morris. Authorities executed a search warrant and discovered evidence that the grandmother had concealed for Fistler.

Fistler has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, using computers for criminal activities, tampering with evidence, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm within a building, carrying a concealed weapon, felony firearm possession, and malicious use of telecommunications services in a domestic relationship. He appeared in court and was granted a $100,000 cash/surety bond, along with strict release conditions.

His grandmother, Morris, faces charges of tampering with evidence, being an accessory after the fact of a felony, and providing false information to law enforcement during a violent crime investigation. She was arraigned and given a $50,000 cash/surety bond, with similar release conditions if she is granted bail.

Additionally, Fistler’s father, Derek Lee Morris, who was present at the scene of the shooting, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit assault with intent to murder, being an accessory after the fact of a felony, and providing false information to law enforcement during a violent crime investigation.
