Swarna : Student’s Father Stabbed by Teacher-Boyfriend in Vijayawada

In a shocking and tragic incident that has left a community in mourning, a man stabbed his girlfriend’s father to death in front of her after he objected to their relationship. The horrifying incident took place in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada on June 27, and a video of the brutal attack has surfaced on social media.

The Incident

The perpetrator, identified as Sivamanikantha, a physical education teacher, attacked Sri Ramachandra Prasad, a grocery store owner, in front of his daughter, Darshini, an engineering student in Brindavan Colony. The violent act was captured on video as Manikantha repeatedly stabbed Prasad with a knife, despite Darshini’s desperate attempts to stop the assault. The attack only ceased when locals, alerted by the woman’s screams, intervened. Manikantha fled the scene, leaving Prasad critically injured. He was rushed to a private hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries upon arrival. His body was later taken to a government hospital mortuary for further examination.

The Relationship

Darshini and Manikantha had been in a relationship for four years after initially connecting on Instagram. Despite Prasad’s objections and attempts to persuade them to focus on their studies and future, the couple continued their relationship. Prasad had even organised a community meeting at Manikantha’s home to address the issue, which only served to heighten tensions and cause discord in Manikantha’s household.
