“Des Moines police pursuit escapee”.
Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Authorities in Des Moines are reaching out to the community for help in locating a kidnapping suspect following a disturbing incident in the Easter Lake Area neighbourhood. The Des Moines Police Department received a distress call on Thursday morning regarding a 73-year-old woman who reported being forcibly taken from her home by an intruder.
According to the victim, the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Robert Daniel Gonzales, restrained her and proceeded to drive her around the Des Moines metropolitan area, coercing her to withdraw cash from ATMs. After this harrowing ordeal, the suspect returned the woman to her residence and made off with her vehicle. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident.
Law enforcement officials have determined that Gonzales has a prior relationship with the victim, dispelling any notions that the kidnapping was a random act of violence. Gonzales is currently evading authorities and was last spotted abandoning the stolen vehicle in a Walmart parking lot on Southeast 14th Street.
Described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 209 pounds, Gonzales is considered to be on the run and should be approached with caution. Individuals with any information regarding Gonzales’ whereabouts are urged to contact emergency services immediately. The suspect was last sighted in the vicinity of Southeast 14th Street and Bell Avenue.
