2. Colorado Springs gang-related police arrest.
Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A man with a criminal history is facing fresh charges following his arrest by Colorado Springs Police earlier this week. The arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation into several known violent offenders with ties to a local gang for firearms-related offenses.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ramon Garcia, was found to be in possession of multiple firearms despite being a convicted felon and legally prohibited from owning a gun. Additionally, Garcia was allegedly providing handguns to juveniles and had a history of evading law enforcement.
The arrest took place in a neighbourhood near Constitution Avenue and Marksheffel Road on the southeast side of Colorado Springs. Police observed a 17-year-old individual walking towards Garcia’s vehicle. When the tactical unit attempted to approach Garcia, he tried to flee the scene, resulting in a collision with another vehicle. Garcia then attempted to escape on foot with the teen but was apprehended by law enforcement.
During the arrest, it was discovered that the teen was in possession of a handgun equipped with a “Glock switch”. This aftermarket device enables a semi-automatic handgun to fire fully automatically, posing a significant danger.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at Garcia’s apartment where additional firearms were seized, including an AR-style rifle and a 50-round drum-style handgun magazine.
As a result of the arrest, Garcia is now facing a range of charges, including possession of a weapon by a previous offender, providing a gun to a juvenile, possessing a dangerous weapon, and other firearm-related offences. The juvenile involved in the incident has also been charged with possessing a dangerous weapon and being in possession of a handgun.
