A tragic incident occurred in the village of Shibaje in Belthangady taluka, Dakshina Kannada district, where a 21-year-old woman named Pratiksha Shetty was allegedly electrocuted on Thursday evening. The victim had stepped out of her house in Bargula hamlet to collect a parcel when the unfortunate incident took place.
Pratiksha’s father, who was present at the scene, attempted to save her but ended up sustaining injuries himself in the process. The Dharmasthala police were informed of the incident and arrived at the location promptly.
The body of the deceased was later subjected to a post-mortem examination before being handed over to her grieving family. This tragedy has left the residents of Shibaje village in shock and mourning.
Second Electrocution Incident in the Week
This incident marks the second case of electrocution in the region within the same week. Earlier in the week, two autorickshaw drivers tragically lost their lives after coming into contact with a live cable in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru city. The authorities are investigating both incidents to determine the causes and prevent similar accidents in the future.
