A warrant for the arrest of the suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a woman on Dellwood Drive has been issued by Greensboro police. The driver has been identified as Manuel Parada-Sosa, a 25-year-old individual who is facing multiple charges, including driving while license revoked.

Investigation Details

According to investigators, Parada-Sosa fled the scene before the police could locate his car. However, thanks to a tip from the community, the car was recovered on June 22. Subsequently, a warrant was issued and is now active in a nationwide database. The investigation into the case is ongoing.

Victim and Suspect Car Identified

The victim of the hit-and-run has been identified as 70-year-old Gayle Steele. Greensboro police have located the suspect car, but details regarding the time and location of its discovery have not been disclosed at this time. Authorities have been searching for the suspect car since Thursday night, but no arrests have been made yet.

Appeal for Information

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect. The police are urging the public to come forward if they have any details regarding a silver, late 2000s Toyota Corolla with front-end damage, a shattered front windshield, a possible flat tire, and a missing windshield wiper arm.

Witnesses described the scene as “horrific,” with the incident occurring near Dellwood Drive around 9:10 p.m. The husband of the deceased woman, who was putting up signs for a yard sale at the time of the crash, expressed his grief and the family’s desire for answers. Neighbours have also raised concerns about speeding on West Cone, highlighting the need for increased safety measures.
