Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a shocking incident in Madurai, a 28-year-old historysheeter has been arrested for the brutal murder of a 21-year-old man. The victim, identified as M Alagendran from Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar, was allegedly beheaded by the accused, M Prabhakaran, over a love affair with a minor girl.
The tragic incident unfolded when Alagendran, who was in a relationship with a minor girl from a different community, visited Madurai to meet a relative. On Monday night, he received a call from Prabhakaran, a relative of the girl and a known criminal in the area. Alagendran went missing after that fateful night.
The gruesome discovery of Alagendran’s body was made on Wednesday at a dry irrigation tank in Velambur near Peraiyur. His decapitated corpse was found hidden in thorny bushes, sending shockwaves through the community. The V Chatrapatti police swiftly launched a murder investigation and apprehended Prabhakaran as the prime suspect.
Alagendran’s family, distraught and seeking justice, refused to claim his body and staged a protest at the Madurai district collectorate. They demanded a thorough CB-CID probe into what they characterized as an ‘honour killing’. The grieving family alleged that Prabhakaran could not have acted alone and called for the arrest of the minor girl’s parents and any other accomplices.
The heinous crime has sparked outrage and calls for stringent action against the perpetrators. The police are conducting further investigations to unravel the full extent of the conspiracy behind Alagendran’s brutal murder. The community mourns the loss of a young life cut short by senseless violence, as justice must prevail for the victim and his grieving loved ones..
