At just 13 years old, Layla has already scored an impressive 240 goals since 2018, catching the attention of scouts and earning herself a place at two exclusive England camps.

Currently playing for Sunderland Women U14s, Layla has set her sights on earning a call-up to the England U15s squad next season. Her journey to success began at a young age when she started breaking records in the Russell Foster leagues at the age of eight.

Attending England Talent Camps since mid-2023, Layla has been showcasing her skills and talents in front of national team coaches with hopes of one day representing the Lionesses on the international stage.

Her goal-scoring prowess is evident in her impressive record, including 94 goals at U9 level, 51 at U10s, 56 at U11s, and 42 at U12s. Her exceptional performance on the pitch caught the attention of Sunderland Women’s Academy, where she was signed to the U14s team.

Competing in the Junior Premier League Northern Section, Layla’s team emerged as runners-up nationwide, narrowly missing out on the top spot to West Ham United. As she enters her third season with Sunderland, Layla will be moving up to the U16 team, ready to take on new challenges and continue her development as a player.

David Longstaff, deputy headteacher at King James I Academy, where Layla is a student, commended her not only for her footballing abilities but also for her exemplary conduct in school. He praised her resilience, determination, and positive attitude, highlighting her as a role model for her peers.

With a bright future ahead of her, Layla is determined to pursue her dream of playing professional football. As she continues to hone her skills and make a name for herself in the sport, all eyes will be on this talented young player as she works towards achieving her goal of becoming a Lioness on the international stage..
