A man accused of shooting at Springfield officers has been found guilty by a Clark County jury. Laurence Thompson has been convicted of felonious assault charges, according to Clark County Prosecutor Daniel Driscoll.
The incident took place on August 10, 2022, when two Springfield officers responded to a call on Lagonda Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers were met with gunfire almost immediately. In self-defense, the officers fired back before the shooter fled the scene.
Following an investigation, Thompson, who was evading law enforcement in Warren County, was identified as the shooter. He is now awaiting sentencing, scheduled for July 10.
