The tragic event unfolded in Hyannis on Wednesday evening when Barnstable Police received a distressing 911 call reporting a vehicle crash near TD Bank on Route 28. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Chaves had been stabbed in the chest. Despite immediate medical intervention, Chaves succumbed to his injuries at Cape Cod Hospital.
