A 54-year-old man was taken into custody after being discovered unresponsive on railroad property in Chillicothe, Ohio. John Woolum was found slumped over a bicycle in a field by a postal carrier, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
Authorities were alerted to the scene at 598 E 5th Street around 4:19 p.m. after receiving reports of a man in distress. Upon arrival, officers encountered Woolum, who displayed signs of impairment. Despite initially providing a false name, Woolum was positively identified as John Woolum, who was wanted for a parole violation in connection with a robbery charge.
During a search of Woolum, officers discovered a canister containing suspected methamphetamine, a folded piece of foil with an unknown substance, and two used syringes. Woolum reportedly confessed to owning the items, indicating that the substance in the foil was “Fetty” (slang for Fentanyl) and the crystal substance was methamphetamine.
Following his arrest, Woolum was transported to jail and booked on charges related to the parole violation and possession of drug abuse instruments. He is currently being held in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, with the suspected drugs being sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for testing. Additional charges may be filed based on the results of the analysis.
