NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The last unnamed victim of a tragic spree killing in North Las Vegas this week has now been publicly identified. The Clark County coroner announced on Thursday that Jeannette Faria-Webster, a 22-year-old woman, was one of the five individuals who lost their lives in the horrifying incident that took place in two apartments on Monday night.
According to Clark County officials, Faria-Webster succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head and neck, with her death being classified as a homicide. Family members of the victims gathered at a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening where they identified Jeannette, affectionately known as “Netty,” as the girlfriend of Kayla Harris, a 24-year-old Adams State University graduate student and basketball player who was also tragically killed in the attack.
The victims, Faria-Webster, Harris, and 21-year-old Christopher Damian, were all found dead in a downstairs apartment. Although the coroner’s office has not officially named Damian as a victim, his family has confirmed his passing. Damian’s mother, Amy, and grandmother Damiana “Anna” Moreno were found deceased in an upstairs apartment. Tragically, Moreno’s 13-year-old granddaughter, Olivia, sustained critical injuries in the shooting.
In a recent update on the investigation, North Las Vegas Police revealed that the perpetrator behind the spree killing was 47-year-old Eric Adams. The authorities disclosed that Adams had been engaged in a dispute with his ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of Kayla Harris, prior to the violent incident.
Police reports indicate that Adams forcibly entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence and proceeded to shoot Harris and Faria-Webster. Christopher Damian was also shot as he attempted to intervene upon hearing the disturbance from his neighbours’ apartment.
Subsequently, Adams moved upstairs and fatally shot Moreno, Anna Damian, and the young Olivia. Two additional individuals were present in the apartment at the time of the shooting and managed to hide before contacting emergency services.
Following the heinous act, Adams reportedly took his ex-girlfriend hostage and drove around with her for several hours before she was able to escape and alert a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with authorities refraining from divulging further details at this point in time.
