The New York Police Department (NYPD) is seeking the cooperation of the public in gathering information related to a tragic incident that occurred in the Mt. Hope neighbourhood of The Bronx.
According to police reports, on the evening of Wednesday, June 12, at approximately 9:16 p.m., officers from the 46th Precinct received a distress call concerning a male individual who had been subjected to a stabbing in the vicinity of Echo Place and East Tremont Avenue. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officials discovered a 50-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest and additional injuries to his body.
“Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced deceased,” stated a police spokesperson. “As of now, no arrests have been made, and our investigation is ongoing.”
Authorities have identified the victim as Gilberto Dejesus, a resident of Barretto Street in the Hunts Point area of The Bronx. It has been mentioned that there are no available images or footage of the individuals being sought in connection with this homicide. A photograph of Mr. Dejesus has been provided for reference.
