LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Authorities have uncovered disturbing information regarding the tragic events that unfolded on June 24 in Las Vegas, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving a 13-year-old girl in critical condition.
According to investigators from the North Las Vegas Police Department, the perpetrator, identified as Eric Adams, had been visiting his former partner, a 45-year-old woman, at her ground-floor residence on Casa Norte Drive. An altercation erupted between the two, leading Adams to retrieve a firearm and shoot two other women present in the apartment.
The victims of the initial shooting were identified as the ex-girlfriend’s 24-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old partner. Subsequently, a 20-year-old neighbour from the upstairs apartment, who was acquainted with the women, overheard the commotion and attempted to intervene, only to be shot by Adams inside the lower-level residence.
Tragically, the man’s 59-year-old grandmother, 40-year-old mother, and 13-year-old sister were also present in the upstairs apartment during the ordeal. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has named the deceased victims as Amy Damian, Damiana Moreno, Kayla Harris, Jeannette Faria-Webster, and Christopher Damian. The critically injured girl has been identified as Olivia Damian.
After perpetrating the initial acts of violence, Adams proceeded to confront and shoot the remaining family members in the upstairs apartment. Fortunately, two additional relatives, both in their late teens, managed to evade harm by remaining out of sight.
Subsequently, Adams abducted his ex-girlfriend and fled the scene, prompting a city-wide search. In the early hours of June 25, the woman managed to escape from Adams unscathed and sought assistance from a patrolling officer from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Following a tip-off on Adams’ whereabouts, law enforcement officers located him at a business on E. Lake Mead Boulevard. Upon being confronted by authorities, Adams brandished a firearm and fled to a residential area on Dwayne Stedman Avenue, where he tragically took his own life.
