LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Authorities have disclosed disturbing information regarding the tragic events that unfolded on June 24 in Las Vegas, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving a 13-year-old girl critically injured.
North Las Vegas Police Department investigators have pieced together the sequence of events that led to the fatal shootings. It was determined that the perpetrator, Eric Adams, had been visiting his former partner, a 45-year-old woman, at her residence on Casa Norte Drive.
An altercation erupted between the two, escalating to a point where Adams retrieved a firearm and shot two other women present in the apartment. The victims were identified as the ex-girlfriend’s 24-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old girlfriend.
Upon hearing the commotion, a 20-year-old neighbour who was acquainted with the women in the ground-floor apartment, descended to offer assistance. Tragically, Adams turned his weapon on the neighbour, fatally injuring him inside the residence.
Remaining in the upstairs apartment were the neighbour’s 59-year-old grandmother, 40-year-old mother, and 13-year-old sister. Adams proceeded to confront and shoot these individuals, resulting in the deaths of Amy Damian, Damiana Moreno, and Kayla Harris, respectively.
The fifth victim, identified as Christopher Damian, 20, lost his life during the violent altercation. Olivia Damian, the 13-year-old sister, sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Subsequently, Adams took his ex-girlfriend hostage and fled the scene. Fortunately, she managed to escape unscathed in the early hours of June 25, seeking help from a nearby law enforcement officer. The officer was able to gather crucial information about the incident.
Following a lead, authorities located Adams at a business premises on E. Lake Mead Boulevard. As officers approached him, Adams brandished a firearm and attempted to evade capture. Ignoring commands to surrender, Adams tragically took his own life in a residential backyard on Dwayne Stedman Avenue.
The investigation into this harrowing incident remains ongoing, with law enforcement officials refraining from disclosing further details at this time.
