LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Authorities in Las Vegas have unveiled harrowing revelations surrounding the tragic shootings that resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left a 13-year-old girl critically wounded on June 24th.
According to North Las Vegas Police Department investigators, the perpetrator, identified as Eric Adams, had been visiting his former partner, a 45-year-old woman, at a ground-floor apartment located at 370 Casa Norte Drive.
An altercation ensued between Adams and his ex-girlfriend, leading to a domestic dispute. It was during this altercation that Adams retrieved a firearm and proceeded to shoot two other women present in the apartment. The victims were identified as the ex-girlfriend’s 24-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old girlfriend.
Upon hearing the commotion, a 20-year-old neighbour residing in the upstairs apartment, who was familiar with the occupants below, ventured downstairs in an attempt to intervene. Tragically, Adams shot the neighbour inside the ground-floor apartment for reasons that remain unclear. The neighbour’s 59-year-old grandmother, 40-year-old mother, and 13-year-old sister were present in the upstairs apartment at the time of the incident.
The victims have been identified as Amy Damian (40), Damiana Moreno (59), Kayla Harris (24), Jeannette Faria-Webster (22), and Christopher Damian (20), who lost his life in the attack. The 13-year-old critically injured victim is Olivia Damian.
After the fatal shooting, Adams proceeded to enter the upstairs apartment, where he confronted and shot the three family members present. Unbeknownst to Adams, two additional family members in their late teens were also in the upstairs apartment but were left unharmed.
Subsequently, Adams abducted his ex-girlfriend and fled the scene. However, in the early hours of June 25th, the ex-girlfriend managed to escape from Adams unscathed. She sought help from a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer who was conducting a traffic stop nearby, providing crucial information about the incident at the apartment complex.
Following leads, detectives from the North Las Vegas Police Department, along with officers from the Criminal Apprehension Team, received intelligence indicating Adams’ location at a business in the 1500 block of E. Lake Mead Boulevard.
Upon immediate response, officers from the Criminal Apprehension Team located Adams in the 1600 block of Dwayne Stedman Avenue. Armed with a firearm, Adams fled into a backyard where, despite repeated verbal commands to drop the weapon, he tragically took his own life.
The investigation into this heinous crime is ongoing, and authorities have stated that no further details will be disclosed at this time.
