Doris Ann Grosskopf : Fatal Crash Investigation in Lake Ridge: Tragic Incident Probed.

On Wednesday, June 16, at 11:02 a.m., authorities were called to the scene of a devastating collision at the intersection of Old Bridge Road and Harbor Drive in Lake Ridge. The incident involved a 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck and a 2020 Ford Edge.

Following a thorough investigation by Prince William police, it was determined that the driver of the Ford F150 was travelling westbound on Old Bridge Road when the Ford Edge, travelling eastbound on the same road, entered the intersection and collided with the truck.

As a result of the crash, all occupants of the vehicles were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Tragically, on June 27, it was confirmed that John Richard Gerald Grosskopf, an 88-year-old passenger in the Ford Edge, had succumbed to his injuries sustained during the collision. The other individuals involved are expected to recover from their injuries.

Investigators ruled out speed, alcohol, and drugs as contributing factors to the crash on behalf of the Ford F150 driver. However, Doris Ann Grosskopf, the driver of the Ford Edge, was charged with failure to obey a traffic signal. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2024, and was released on a court summons.

The deceased passenger, John Richard Gerald Grosskopf, resided in Woodbridge, while Doris Ann Grosskopf, 82, also from Woodbridge, faces legal repercussions for her involvement in the collision.

The driver of the Ford F150, a 44-year-old man from Hyattsville, Md., and the 18-year-old male passenger in the same vehicle were identified as residents of Hyattsville.
