TOPEKA (KSNT) – Authorities in Topeka have made an arrest in connection with the city’s 7th homicide of the year.
Dasanee D. Curry, an 18-year-old resident of Topeka, has been taken into custody and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Curry faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated child endangerment, criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling, and criminal damage of property.
The incident took place last Friday in the 3100 block of Southwest Westover Road in west Topeka. Topeka Police Department (TPD) responded to reports of a shooting and found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. The man, identified as Brian M. Wright, succumbed to his injuries, while the woman is currently in critical condition with injuries deemed life-threatening. This tragic event marks the 7th homicide investigation in Topeka this year.
