Following the discovery of a body in an advanced state of decomposition in Central Florida, a 29-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the death of a 35-year-old male.

Last week, authorities in Tampa responded to a report of a deceased individual in the 17000 block of Dona Michelle Drive. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers located the body, which was significantly decomposed. Through the discovery of a Florida Driver’s License at the scene, the victim was identified as an adult male.

During the course of their investigation, detectives uncovered that the victim had been residing in his vehicle, a red 2006 Dodge Charger. It was determined that the vehicle had been driven by someone other than the deceased individual.

Through their investigative efforts, officers located the victim’s vehicle parked at a residence on Madison Creek Drive and apprehended the suspect, Andre Aris.

During questioning, Aris admitted to having met the victim a month prior and claimed that the victim had entrusted him with selling the Dodge Charger a week before the incident. However, in a subsequent interview, Aris alleged that the person who handed him the vehicle did not resemble the victim, despite the recovery of multiple photo ID cards belonging to the victim in Aris’s possession.

Near the site where the victim’s body was discovered, detectives executed search warrants at a storage facility and a nearby hotel. Evidence gathered from both locations linked Aris to the murder of the victim, resulting in his arrest.

As a consequence, Aris has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder and one count of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. He has been remanded to Orient Road Jail pending further legal proceedings.
