A 43-year-old man has been charged following a two-vehicle rollover crash on Sunday that resulted in multiple injuries and the tragic death of a juvenile passenger. The incident occurred just west of Douglas near milepost .5 on Wyoming Highway 91 Sunday evening. Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were notified of the crash at 8:22 p.m. and arrived on scene shortly after.
Troopers at the scene found two vehicles involved in the collision. A westbound 2017 Chevy 3500 had crossed the dividing line and collided head-on with a 2017 Ford Edge that was travelling east at the time of the crash, according to a WHP press release.
The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Justine Crouch from Douglas, was airlifted to Denver for her injuries, along with one juvenile passenger who had been in the backseat of the vehicle. Tragically, the second juvenile, who had been in the front passenger seat, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identities and ages of the juveniles were not disclosed by the WHP.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 43-year-old Wesley Kersey from Douglas, declined medical treatment at the scene. He has been charged with one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, two counts of aggravated vehicular assault with serious bodily injury, and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol with serious bodily injury, according to the WHP press release.
