The young man tragically found shot to death in a church parking lot in Kansas City earlier this week has been identified as 16-year-old Tytus Bridgeford.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department confirmed the identity of the victim on Thursday, June 27. Bridgeford was discovered with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Dayspring Pentecostal Church on Monday morning around 9:30 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
Authorities had appealed to the public for assistance on Wednesday following the discovery of Bridgeford’s body. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and as of Thursday, no information regarding potential suspects has been disclosed.
