Sagar Govani : “Man Arrested for Speeding on Dulles Toll Road”

FAIRFAX, Va. — The Fairfax County Police Department has recently made headlines with the release of video footage capturing a dramatic arrest. The incident occurred when officers from the Reston District Station spotted a driver traveling at a staggering 117 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on the Dulles Toll Road near the Fairfax County Parkway.

The police bodycam footage shows a white sports car zooming past the officers at high speed. Upon pulling the driver over, it was discovered that the car had fictitious plates attached, although it was confirmed that the vehicle was not reported stolen.

An officer can be heard in the bodycam video exclaiming, “That was ridiculous, he’s going to jail.” The driver was identified as 27-year-old Sagar Govani from Leesburg. Govani was subsequently taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and later released on an unsecured bond. He now faces charges of reckless driving and displaying altered or fictitious plates.

The Fairfax County Police Department disclosed that this arrest was part of their “Road Shark” initiative, designed to combat aggressive driving, reduce traffic accidents, and promote safer driving habits through a combination of enforcement and education.
