ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office has reported a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday, June 26, at approximately 3:37 p.m. The incident took place near 67819 S.R. 15 in Elkhart County.
Details of the Crash
According to authorities, the collision involved a 2007 Pontiac G6, driven by a 17-year-old boy from Bristol, and a 2016 Toyota Sienna, driven by a woman from Goshen. Both vehicles were travelling east on U.S. 20 and approaching C.R. 33 at the time of the incident.
The Toyota Sienna came to a stop as the driver intended to make a left turn onto northbound C.R. 33. Unfortunately, the Bristol teen driving the Pontiac G6 was following too closely and was unable to stop in time, resulting in a rear-end collision with the Sienna.
Injuries and Citations
Following the crash, the 15-year-old female passenger in the Pontiac G6 sustained a cut to her chin. She was treated for her injuries at the scene and subsequently signed off. The 17-year-old driver of the Pontiac G6 was cited for following too closely, in violation of traffic regulations.
