Chatham-Kent police have disclosed the identity of the victim of a homicide in Chatham, and have apprehended an additional suspect in connection with the case.
The investigation was launched earlier this month following the discovery of a deceased woman at a residence in Chatham. The victim has now been identified as 27-year-old Louise Thompson, hailing from Milton, Ontario.
In a recent development, 23-year-old Sky-Linn Holden, who is currently without a fixed address, was arrested in Windsor. Holden has been charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a dead body in relation to the ongoing investigation.
Following her arrest, Holden was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
On the 4th of June, officers responded to a call at a property on William Street South in Chatham, where they discovered the lifeless body of Louise Thompson.
Two individuals, 44-year-old Jeffrey Davis and 59-year-old David Lozon, both residents of Chatham, were previously apprehended and charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a dead body in connection with the same incident. Both suspects have appeared in court on the 5th of June and the 19th of June, and have been remanded into custody until further notice.
Chatham-Kent police have reassured the public that this incident is isolated and there is no prevailing threat to public safety.
